The latest recommendations from the Pennsylvania Department of Health concerning the use of respirators when providing care to patients with H1N1 is posted in the member reference area.

N95 respirators are considered respirators, and if their use is required (because of H1N1), they fall under OSHA respiratory protection standards. Long-Term Care Risk Management Academy Workshop

Stevens & Lee is hosting a one-day workshop on May 21st at Willow Valley. The morning session will be filled with general session speakers, and the afternoon sessions will be divided into two tracks - what staff/charge nurses need to know about risk areas and for CEOs/MDs/Board what risk issues need to be addressed to create a culture of safety/risk awareness. The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act was approved by Congress. The new entrapment prevention guidelines provide that all swimming pools and spas are to use proper anti-entrapement drain covers and circulation and drainage systems.
